Elizabeth May's Axis of Evil
Stephane Dion's most trusted ally, Elizabeth May, has come out apologizing for calling the Tories worse than Chamberlain for their climate change inaction. Well, it wasn't so much inaction as insufficient fake action. Today, Elizabeth May has called this comparison "an understatement."
Some of you may be confused as to just how bad Elizabeth May thinks the Tories are - are they Ted Bundy bad? Or merely Al Capone bad? Are they Fidel Castro bad? Or is Fidel Castro good? To help you with that, Chuckercanuck is pleased to share with you the Elizabeth May Axis of Evil to give you a sense of how truly evil the Tories are. (Enjoy and feel free to print this out and place yourself on the axis, or your boss for that matter.)

Stephane Dion's 'Invented Cover-Up'
Dan Cook, today at 3:23 PM EST
From Thursday's ethics committee:
Conservative MP Russ Hiebert: "Mr. Schreiber, I have a couple of simple questions I'd like to ask you. They only require a yes' or 'no' answer. They're not complicated and I hope you'll be willing to provide me with the answers.
"Have you ever spoken directly with, or met, Prime Minister Stephen Harper?"
Karlheinz Schreiber: "No."
Conservative MP Russ Hiebert: "Has a lawyer, while acting on your behalf, ever met with or spoken with Prime Minister Harper?"
Karlheinz Schreiber: "No."
Conservative MP Russ Hiebert: "Have you, or a lawyer acting on your behalf, ever met with or spoken with a member of the staff of Prime Minister Harper's office?"
Karlheinz Schreiber: "Not to my knowledge."

Conservative MP Russ Hiebert: "Mr. Schreiber, have you ever held a membership or donated funds to the Conservative Party of Canada since its creation in 2003?"
Karlheinz Schreiber: "No."

There is something seriously wrong with your post here Chucker.
The bottom of the barrel is Stalin, followed by Hitler, followed by the Halliburton CEOs.
All of them have been responsible for millions of deaths.
You also failed to explain why Stalin killed more than Halliburton. The short answer is that Stalin had nuclear weapons, and Halliburton still have not been in the drug business long enough to get the money they needed to purchase it from Emperor George II's close friend, General Mussharif and his sidekick, Osama.
When are you going to be able to work on your own Chucker, must I show you EVERYTHING???

Maybe women aren't very good at leading political parties at the fed/prov level.
Between Liz May, Kim Campbell, Alexa McDonaugh, the other Alexa, Rita Johnson, Pauline Marois, and Lyn McLeod, has any of them ever won an election, ever? At some point we have to stop blaming the patriarchy.

"Maybe women aren't very good at leading political parties ..."
OK, have to go out of Canada for this ... but how about Margaret Thatcher?
Pauline Marois has not yet been tested in leading her party to power ... not that I'd want her in the premier's chair.
Maybe it's not that they're women, it's their parties' policies that keep voters away.
On the other hand, some voters cast their ballots based on a leader's sartorial splendor or their hair style.
Regardless, interviewers of women candidates like May are too soft on them. I've heard three different "tough" guys interview May; she puts on her concerned Mother Earth act and they fall for it.
I hope we'll be spared seeing her in the leaders' debates when the next federal election rolls around.

interesting though -
New Zealand, India, Pakistan, now Germany, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Liberia - all have done it.
In the US, Lousiana, New Jersey, Vermont, Texas (yup, W Country) have all had women run the show.
In fact, the only Canadian woman to WIN an ELECTION to run a jurisdiction is the Govenor of Michigan.

She [Catherine Callbeck] was elected leader of the Liberal Party of Prince Edward Island on January 23, 1993 and was sworn in as Premier and President of the Executive Council on January 25, 1993. She was elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for the First District of Queens in the general election of March 29, 1993. She was the first woman in Canada to be elected as Premier.

Sauron is placed well. Have you seen the emissions from Mount Doom? Nasty.
Saruman was quite the tree-cutter, you know. Might want to slot him in also. He was using old growth forest to fire his forges, not deadwood. Gandalf protect us!

Chucker the Canucker, long time no see... did you catch this link on Bourque...
No wonder Cherniak supported Dion, doesn't this article describe them *both* to a T?
Yes, Elizabeth May sucks. I think I'm going to vote Tory next election (I can't believe I just said that) because she is just not worth my vote. She's starting to make Jack Layton look good to me...

I do think Kim Campbell would have been a very good Prime Minister, and I deeply regret she didn't win at least one term.
I'll tell you what's more interesting - all the parties but the Liberal Party of Canada have had female leaders. Come on Liberals, sometime this century would be nice, you faux "progressive" assholes.

Thats funny Joe, and here I always thought Stalin was just a physcotic paranoic who saw conspiracies at every turn...
Oh wait, that sort of describes you... hey, you and Stalin, kissing cousins or what?
Seriously though, it was bullets (around 30 million of them), not bombs, that Stalin used JG.
Halliburton is an energy services giant now... they don't do chemicals anymore, that was a subsiduary of the big H.
Now they just provide the lube to go fuck yourself.
Stalin would have loved you though. Fruits from the same tree and all that. Well, fallen apples anyway.

premier of pei is like mayor of vulcan alberta - its chic that you were caretaker for a piece of pop culture schtick geography, but who the fuck are they kidding?

Not sure if you were alive then, but she had absolutely no chance. Even conservatives wouldn't vote for the PC's then.
Shows the difference between Cons and Libs clearly. The Libs still get 100 seats, no matter what they do.

Posted at Cherniak's...who is whining about Ontario not having enough representation...he's been censoring me lately, so i thought I'd post the comments here Chucker, because your blog goes about as farr off topic as any I've ever seen, and it doesn't seem to bother you.
Jason normally censors my posts but I'll try anyways. I'll cross post this somewhere else for when he pretends it got lost in the internet somewhere, like the last few times I complained to you. I didn't even bother to complain about my lost post on the subject of blood donations yesterday. (Jason, your blog is the ONLY place my postings have EVER got lost. Coincidence?)
1) Some provinces will be overrepresented, unless you increase the number of seats to about 960. If a province is overrepresented, some, or all of the rest have to be underrepresented by definition.
2) Should each province that is underrepresented be asked to have the same amount of underrepresentation, or should it be broken out in some other manner? I say in some other manner, based upon the current configuration of parliament. (My answer changes with a triple E senate)
3) It is reasonable that if the least populated provinces need overrepresentation to ensure that they have sufficient "clout" in the HoC, this over representation should be made up by underrepresenting the most populous provinces.
4) Nobody is going to touch Quebec.
5) That leaves Ontario as the populated province that is going to have to suck up the under representation.
Think of it this way. We raise income taxes as income goes up. This is because we can take more from rich people, and they will still be left with plenty. We then give some of this tax money back to the poorest people who have nothing. Is it fair that the rich have to pay a higher percentage than the middle class or poor? We justify this by saying they can afford it. Nobody cries a river for the poor rich people paying too much tax.
Seat rich Ontario can easily afford to scrifice some of there representation for poor old PEI. You will still have massive clout in Parliament.
Boo hoo Ontario. I feel so sorry for you, you are so hard done by.
Now if you are willing for every province, regardless of population, to have 10 senators, I will listen to your whining about unequal rep by pop.

off topic posts are welcome here. Why? Because I noticed on topic posts can be about as non sequiter as anything. Plus, I like to host a conversation and that means people coming by and sharing what's on their brain. Springer, as you all know, regularly feeds me links which give birth to future posts.
ps. not that anyone cares, but I've had a busy day in NYC. Won't post nothin' til tomorrow.
Except, let me say this: NYCers can make my eyes roll sometimes.

Yeah , really ;
It's not like he was convicted of bringing a small brick of hash back from Turkey, or something...
I mean , I don't blame the guy for trying, but FUCK!
He was tried and convicted for KILLING two guys, who picked him up hitch-hiking, in a free-voting democracy.
I wonder which 'wing' of the spectrum, his stream of meandering lawyers and activists are on...

Chucker , I hope you have fun in New York City...
The last time I was in NYC was in '82, where we shot several bands, for a semi-simulcast/stereo vision presentation...
It was at the RITZ (42nd or 44th street and something).
The shoot went well , but the FUN really started the next day, when the bartenders refused to allow us (the crew) to pay for drinks/beers...
Of course , we tipped them as heavily as protocol would allow, and the speakers were at LEAST 20 feet tall, and the music was hard rock and punk and euro-electro...
The next day I caught a standby flight back to Buffalo,NY, to pick up the van we left when we crossed over from T.O. (Fort Erie, actually) and left at 6 PM to catch the crew in Detroit at Midnight...
6 hr. drive doing 75...6 pack of BUD, and stopped twice for a gas/leak...
Entered the auditorium at 11:57 pm and 'GirlsSchool' rocked the masses at midnight, as the headliners...
Wow! Those Chicks can ROCK!
The drive back to Toronto was hallucinatory, due to lack of sleep, and lingering infatuation...

Oh , yeah ... And Margaret Thatcher set the standard for politicians...female or male, when She refused to take any crap from the Argentinian 'coup d'etat' ists, who tried to fuck with her, and the Empire...
Not to mention Winston Spencer Churchill...
(Just to stay on topic).
Chucker , thanks for your tolerance of off-tangentical frivoulations...

Questions on my mind:
1) How many people outside of the Libs, Dippers and MSM actually give a shit about this Schreiber crap?
2) The all too obvious ploy of the Libs, as pointed out by Duffy tonight, is to force an election right in the middle of all this shit in hopes it's somehow going to stick to Harper.
Will it?
3) Is there a Liberal left in that party with even one molecule of integrity left? And if so, where are they right now?
4) Same question applies to the MSM?
5) Most of all, why do I even care any more? The Libs have turned Canadian politics into such as absolute fucking toilet that I'm increasingly convinced even someone of the relatively sterling character of Stephen Harper can't reverse it.
I'm telling you, I'm sure getting sick of this endless shite.
Honestly speaking...

On a less serious note,
Elizabeth May has some sort of addiction to martyrdom, media exposure, and has some kind of "Zelig" magic.
She is also one of our "least best" American imports.
The CPC must be hard pressed between trying to shine a glaring light on her hypocrisies, and not wanting to say anything hoping the Green's steal a percentage or 10 from the LPC and NDP.

Shades of ratpacks and kazoos. The Liberals are taking the country to court. How can people not see how self serving they are. Scumbags should be embarrassed at what the Liberals are doing to their reputation.
Circus of deceit. Understand what really goes on in Canada. Liberal MP Robert Thibault has been meeting with Schreiber since the spring. Dion and the Liberals need help. Voila the theft of another election is on.
I'd pay money to be a fly on the wall for this meeting...
If Williams thinks he's gonna brow beat Harper into submission of some sort, me thinks he's got another thing coming.
As for the Schreiber hearing...
